Du Tonghe Zhan Fuzhang, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Yuhuan City, summarized the overview of Yuhuan City with nine numbers. He introduced that Yuhuan is the only county-level island city in China, with over a thousand industrial enterprises above designated size, a total output value of over 100 billion yuan, and the income of urban and rural residents ranking second among counties and cities in the country. The industry covers eight major clusters such as automobile and motorcycle parts and glasses, and there are already nine listed companies. The Yuhuan eyewear accessories industry started as a small workshop in the 1970s and has now developed into an industrial cluster with more than 300 enterprises, with an annual output value of nearly 2 billion yuan. However, it still faces problems such as low product added value and weak brand influence. Looking forward to the future development of Yuhuan glasses, he put forward three suggestions: firstly, to improve product quality through technological innovation and optimized production; Secondly, government enterprise collaboration should be strengthened to enhance the service functions of associations and promote the healthy development of the industry; Thirdly, we will strengthen cooperation with eyewear associations and chambers of commerce in various regions to promote the digital transformation of the industry. From 1978 to 2004, the Yuhuan eyewear accessories industry experienced a rapid growth stage, achieving a transformation from a simple production environment to standardized factory buildings in industrial parks. The industrial layout covers areas such as Damaiyu and Puqing Industrial Zone, laying the foundation for the long-term development of the industry; After the establishment of the association in 2004, the industry entered a period of standardization and improvement. With the promotion of policies, the level of mechanization continued to improve, production efficiency and product quality significantly improved, and the eyewear industry chain gradually improved, including self-sufficiency in raw materials, equipment, electroplating and other fields, significantly enhancing the overall competitiveness of the industry. Nowadays, Yuhuan eyewear accessories are exported worldwide, becoming a supplier of luxury brands and competing with internationally renowned accessory companies.
