On October 29th, 2024, the third plenary session of the first session of the National Eye and Vision Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Eye and Vision Standardization Committee") was held in Hangzhou. David Ping, Chairman of the National Optometry Committee and Professional Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Eyewear Association; Sun Huanbao, Vice Chairman of the National Optometry Committee and Vice Chairman of the China Eyewear Association; Liu Wenli, Vice Chairman of the National Optometry Committee and Chief Metrologist of the China Institute of Metrology; Liu Hongjun, Vice Chairman of the National Optometry Standards Committee and Deputy Director of the National Eyewear Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center; Kang Ying, Secretary General of the National Optometry Committee and Deputy Secretary General of the China Eyewear Association; Ye Jiayi, Deputy Secretary General of the National Optometry Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the National Optometry Glass Enamel Product Inspection and Testing Center; and representatives from eyewear production, retail, trade enterprises, quality inspection and measurement institutions, and research institutes. More than 30 committee members from institutions, hospitals, and other organizations attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Chairman David Ping.

At the meeting, Secretary General Kang Ying reported on the work report of the National Eye and Vision Standardization Technical Committee for 2024 and submitted it to the conference for review. In 2024, under the leadership of the National Standards Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the guidance of the China Light Industry Federation, the Eye and Vision Standardization Committee coordinated the work of the two sub committees around the "2024 National Standardization Work Points" and carried out a large amount of standardization work in the field of eye and vision. As of now, there are 2 national standards in the project research stage, 2 national standard plans applied for, and a total of 19 national standards and foreign language versions under research; 3 industry standards under research; Five group standards of the Chinese Glasses Association are currently under research. In terms of standard promotion, multiple promotion and training sessions were held in several major eyewear production areas such as Jiangsu and Zhejiang, as well as large and medium-sized cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, and Chengdu, focusing on national standards such as "Sunglasses and Eyewear Lenses", "Assembled Eyewear Part 3: Monocular Presbyopia Lenses", "Eyewear Lens Photochromic Lenses", as well as related fitting service specifications and the "Microstructure Eyewear Lens" series of China Eyewear Association group standards. About 3000 training personnel were trained.

Next, the Eye Vision cursor committee will focus on the following aspects of work: firstly, increasing efforts in the development of standards in key areas. Continue to strengthen the research and development of standardization work in the field of intelligent manufacturing, while paying attention to intellectual property protection in the standard setting process, and accelerating the industrial application of innovative achievements; Continue to promote research on green products and energy conservation and emission reduction standards within the industry, and advance the standardization process of energy conservation and emission reduction in the industry; The second is to further enhance the internationalization level of domestic standards. Carry out international standard tracking and conversion of applicable international standards, and organize the initiation and development of foreign language versions of standards as needed. Strengthen cooperation and communication with domestic and foreign standard organizations, gather wisdom and strength, promote standard work to better meet the needs of industrial development, and form a joint force to promote international standardization work through an innovative "going out" and open "bringing in" work pattern; Thirdly, we will continue to strengthen the promotion and implementation of standards. Strengthen the promotion and implementation of important standards, improve the breadth and timeliness of standard promotion, enhance the application effect of standards, widely collect problems in the implementation process of standards, guide enterprises on how to respond, guide enterprises to benchmark and meet standards in various links such as research and development, production, and management, optimize production processes, and continuously improve quality control capabilities; The fourth is to continuously strengthen self construction and improve standardized service capabilities. Strengthen the training of standard talents in the Secretariat, and build a composite standardized talent team that understands business, foreign languages, technology, and rules. Strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant government departments, scientific research institutions, enterprises, etc., give full play to the role of committee members and experts, strengthen the research reserve of standard projects, enhance the evaluation of standard implementation, further improve the standardization service capability, and continuously enhance the influence of the National Eye Vision Committee; The fifth is to cultivate and develop a group of high-quality standards. Accelerate the development of standards for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the field of new technologies, pay attention to the effective coordination between the standard formulation process and upstream and downstream standards in the industrial chain, release a batch of high-quality group standards, and timely meet the needs of rapid technological and industry development. Fully mobilize the subjective initiative of enterprises and involve more optometry related enterprises in the standard setting process.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Liu Wenli and Secretary of the Standardization Committee Wang Likun gave detailed introductions and special reports on the background, preliminary research, and revision framework of the GB/T 26397-2011 "Ophthalmic Optics Terminology" revision project.
